Animals have always been an essential part of Dr. Kogoy’s life. She grew up riding and showing horses, and loving her family’s golden retriever. Her passion for animals guided most of her decisions throughout her life, which is how she ended up at the University of Kentucky for her undergraduate, which is the horse capital of the world. It was there that she decided to pursue veterinary medicine after becoming highly involved with the local equine and beef producers in the area. Though it wasn’t until she took her first job in a small animal 24/7 emergency clinic that she found her true calling in the field; emergency medicine. She loves the fast paced nature, and never knowing what’s going to walk through the doors that’s going to need her help.

Dr. Kogoy is incredibly proud to be part of a hospital that’s on the cutting edge of veterinary medicine, and has been instrumental in developing our own emergency and urgent care program at Alpine.

When Dr. Kogoy isn’t working, she can be found anywhere outdoors. She is an avid runner, hiker and snowboarder. She also enjoys traveling and exploring new places. She loves going out to eat almost as much as she loves cooking and grilling at home. If she’s not outside chasing a thrill, she’s usually on her balcony, buried in a good book
