Originally from Utah, Kailey Waters has always had a passion for working with animals. Her journey began at an animal boarding and daycare facility run by a retired veterinarian, where she discovered her calling. Despite having no formal veterinary technician experience, Kailey’s dedication and love for animals led her to an animal hospital where she received on-the-job training and found her true vocation.
Kailey joined Alpine Animal Hospital shortly after moving to the area, seizing the opportunity by dropping off her resume. Her favorite part of the job is seeing the health of her animal patients improve through the treatments she provides, which continually reinforces her commitment to the field.
Kailey’s home life is a bustling farmyard, shared with a variety of beloved pets including three cats, two dogs, two goats, 35 chickens, and six ducks. She and her husband enjoy spending their free time gardening, working on house projects, and caring for their animals.
Known for surprising people with her poultry prowess, Kailey previously kept as many as 100 chickens. When she’s not at the animal hospital, you can find her cooking, gardening, or enjoying time with her pets. A lover of the outdoors, Kailey dreams of visiting Glacier and Grand Teton National Parks and hopes to pay off as much of her mortgage as possible over the next five years.
Despite a fear of heights and tight spaces, Kailey is a talented puzzle solver. As for the age-old “dog or cat” debate? She says it depends on the circumstance—showing her balanced love for all animals. Her favorite food? A classic meat and potatoes meal is her go-to choice.
